World premiere of new opera, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark
The European premiere of the new opera in five acts, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark , took place on May 30, 2015 in the Theatre Vinohrady, Prague, Czech Republic, before a full house and extremely enthusiastic public. Conducted by Piotr Vronsky, the Prague performance featured American singers and the Moravian Philharmonic of Olomouc. New Reference Work
A new book, "The Theatrical Vocal Music of Nancy Van de Vate: Volume I 1958-2000" has just been released and is available online in print or as an ebook. Written by Dr. Michelle Vought, Professor of Voice at Illinois State University, it analyzes from a performer's perspective four of Van de Vate's works. This includes two operas, "In the Shadow of the Glen" and "Nemo: Jenseits von Vulkania" and two shorter pieces, "A Night in the Royal Ontario Museum" and "Cocaine Lil."

New opera broadcasts
In the Shadow of the Glen, the composer's opera in one act based on the play by John Millington Synge, was broadcast by Swiss Radio on June 18 and by Radio Arts Indonesia on July 4. Van de Vate's chamber opera, The Death of the Hired Man, based on the poem by Robert Frost, was broadcast by Radio Arts Indonesia on June 30, and her full-length opera, Nemo: Jenseits von Vulkania was aired by Swiss Radio on June 19.
